Hello everyone i’ve been working on a medieval sword pack in the past few days
This pack will include around 33 finished swords (11 of each category), and modular pieces so you can build your own swords
Basically its split up in 3 parts: Blade - Crossguard - Grip+Pommel
The pack will be split up in 3 categories
Longsword
Greatsword (including zweihanders)
Arming Sword (onehanded)
Currently there is 8 blades, 6 crossguards & 5 grips for the longsword. So 240 possible combinations. Roughly the same will be for the other two categories. All parts are compatible with each other within their categories, I don’t recommend mixing them (for example using longsword crossguards with greatsword blades etc.) as the proportions will look strange.
Each modular part uses a 4k atlas texture, so for example all blades share the same material, but you could open the blade atlas texture itself and modify each blade individually if you want. I highly recommend using a sort of atlas for this kind of stuff, because giving many parts their own textures will have some serious VRAM usage & drawcalls.
tris are kept low, my max limit is 3-5k tris for a complete sword. All parts will be same length etc.
There will be condition masks included, aswell as bloodmasks. Basically there will be a rust mask & “used up” mask that you can put ontop of the swords to make them look rusty, or well used up and not all shiny new :D. Blood masks will be in there so you can set it up when you damage/kill alot of enemies, the swords will get bloody.
I will include 3 LODs for each part.
