Media Playback / Electra support for Linux?

Trying to get local video files to play on Linux. I have the files in my /Content/Movies/ folder, but they will not play correctly. Tested with various mp4s of differing codecs/qualities: some recordings from my phone, some recordings from OBS on my laptop, some renders via KDEnlive. And this was after the demo video in a plugin I own (which played fine on Windows in the past) was also failing.

After noting they were not working, I enabled the Electra plugin and all of its supporting plugins, and I then saw a lot of Electra “Failed to parse mp4” and “Invalid filler data size” errors; though the video files play fine in various external players and browsers. At least one “played” in Engine, but with the audio track only; Electra reported there being no video track.

I consulted the documentation for Electra and I’ve noted that Linux does not appear at all in the list of supported platforms. Are there plans for this soon? Is there an alternative recommendation in the meantime?

Help with this is most appreciated!
