Measurements & Distances

Hi.
RC is a great software for 3D modeling, no need to mention all the good things it has.
…but I do miss some things while modeling in RC.
I do miss a proper tool for measuring. A way to measure and check in a quick and comfortable way. Doing it with the control point approach is not quick or comfortable.
Defining a distance is great for scaling, not for measuring. Once you have your model scaled you could need measure something …or a thousand things.

The measuring UNIT is a Metre. I think it is needed to be able to choose between metres and centimetres.
you can make a model from a large things like a building, so metres is good. but you can make a model from medium or small objects, so centimetres are needed.
yes, you could work with 0´01m (=1cm) , but the point of a (software) tool is to be quick and comfortable. other thing is that working with one metre decimals and distance constraints the measurements shown are not accurate or complete.

so… I do think that a proper measuring tool and selecting metres or centimetres could be a big improvement in RC.

cheers!

Hi @Liuthz
There are already some feature requests for measuring tools. I will add your vote there.

Regarding to the units, you can set the wanted units by yourself: https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/knowledge-base/LJbB/capturing-reality-set-your-own-global-or-local-coordinate-system#:~:text=S-JTSK%20[JTSK03]".-,Setting%20your%20own%20local%20coordinate%20system%20in%20various%20units,-This%20option%20could

thanks for the reply and for adding my vote for the measurement tools request.

about the way to transform units from metres to centimetres with an API… I have been trying to understand it reading the post linked but I can´t, I have no knowledge about programming, APIs and coordinate transformation.
