Measure object height in 3D model

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if it is possible to measure and record the heights of multiple objects at once in a 3D model?  I’ve used the measure tool, but it seems to only be used in 2D.  Is there a way to take measurements in the 3D model?

I’m also wondering if the measure tool only places two points that you move around, or is there another way that I can place multiple points and leave them there, and then connect two points to measure a distance?  Ideally I’d like to be able to place many points in 3D, and then export those coordinate values to a csv file for processing.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello Robert,

Once you have your 3D model georeferenced and properly scaled you can take distance measurements with the Define Distance tool in the Alignment tab. After the tool is activated just click and drag between two points directly in the 3D view. The distance will be displayed directly in the 3D view. It is also possible to export points. Place the point in the 3D view, then place the point in at least two images. Change its type to Ground test. After you created all of your desired points you can export them into a csv file using the export Ground control in the Alignment tab.
