Hi, I’m a 3D animation major working on my school project and I’ve encountered a problem with exporting my rig to unreal. The character rig I built from scratch so there’s no plugins available for export assistance. I’ve exported the FBX several different ways through export selection and game exporter and export straight to unreal and none of them have worked. I opened the exported FBX back into maya no problem so it doesn’t seem to be a problem with the FBX but with the way I’m importing it. The issue is that when I hook up the animation to the skeletal mesh, the animation doesn’t read as it should, the geo completely folds in on itself, but the animation is the only problem, the geo and mesh import fine. I think it’s something to do with the rig and skeleton import but I tried clicking all the different import settings and nothing seems to fix this issue. Any advice?
