Maya Rigged Bow to Unreal Issues

Hi everyone,

i have an issues that is bothering me for quite some time now. I created an animated bow in Maya which looks fine but when I export the fbx to Unreal, the string is just not showing up.

The main body of the bow is rigged with added IK and locators and transfer just fine in UE4. However, the string is only animated with Blend Shapes and no matter what i do, it doesn’t work in Unreal.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix the problem?
