I’m facing a peculiar issue with Maya Live Link and blend shapes. Initially, when I created blend shapes for the eyes and mouth with identical names, they synced and moved together perfectly.
However, after I separated them and gave each one a unique name, the blend shape synchronization stopped working entirely. Interestingly, the skeletal animation for the rest of the body still syncs just fine, so the Live Link connection itself is working.
The blend shapes are present in Unreal Engine and they work correctly when I control them manually inside the Skeletal Mesh Editor. I’ve also tried re-exporting the model, but that didn’t solve the problem.
What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.
