Maya Animation not Exporting to UE5

Hi guys,

I’ve attempted every tutorial and suggestion I’ve found on this but haven’t gotten anything to work.

Been trying to get this accordion-style crossbar animation to export from Maya to UE5.
It started as an IK system, and I’ve since tried to Bake Animation, Game Export, edit my UE5 import settings, and the like.

Nothing has worked! Inside Maya, everything runs perfectly. I can even delete the IK handles and the animation has baked fine and runs. When I import into UE5, one of two things happen:

  1. The model scatters into this and keeps it’s grouped rotation and transform animation, but not it’s accordion crossbar animation.

  2. The model appears to import properly but doesn’t animate, but weirdly the skeleton appears to have imported fine, but it’s extended and doesn’t match up with the model anymore.

I’m at my wits end, hopefully someone can help me understand how to get this to work?
If I have to I can redo the animation without IK, but that would be very time-consuming.
