Maya 2025 - Metahuman import (yet?)? Alternate ways to animate?

I’m only finding very old posts for this.

Is there not yet a way to import Metahumans into Maya 2025?

When I attempt it - installing the Bridge Maya plugin, making sure pyMel is installed for Maya (tested on 2025.2), I actually get no errors after download and “export” from Bridge

However, in Maya what shows up is only the head mesh (and skeleton). The controls are 90 degrees off axis and there are no constraints set up – so none of the controls actually do anything.

MS Plugin 7.3 appears to be working (at least no errors)

But after I copy those files over to the proper place and export from Bridge, it says “export to maya complete” but nothing happens in Maya. So obviously that’s not a fix.

I’m really needing to be able to animate characters in Maya vs Unreal, but this doesn’t seem possible with Metahumans any more without completely rerigging?
