Maximum activation period

Hi there,

Is there a maximum license activation period. A first test with a custom term of expiration failed and I had to renew the activation the next day.

We offer 3D-Scanners bundled with an Enterprise License of Reality Capture. The photogrammetry work is done in background running an instance of your software headless with restricted rights of a dedicated Windows user account. The license activation key must be accessible to all local users and has to be stored in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch of the Windows Registry though.

Because of this and because some of these scanners are run by customers offline most of the time, we need a solution more practicable than re-activating the license key by manually starting Reality Capture with elevated user access rights to log into your license server, when the auto-renewal has failed and the 3D model extraction seems to work no more.

Is there a way to extend or renew an activation period before the ongoing has expired? Is there a way to obtain an activation token in an automatable way by machine-to-machine communication from your license server to be deployed to a scanner together with a system update?

Sorry for the repetition.

This feature fails, when the scanner is offline at the moment the activation period expires, of course. And it fails, too, if the user currently logged in has no administrator’s rights to renew the activation granted to all users, because the registry entry can not update without.

I’m looking for a way to get over this.
