Hello,
I’ve created a number of custom vehicles utilizing the Matrix Vehicle Rig. I followed this tutorial to animate a car chase scene in my short film. Using the Take Recorder you can record the vehicle movement in gameplay then playback in sequencer.

My vehicles are working perfectly, in gameplay I can record a collision and the glass is breakable. However, when I play back in sequencer the glass does not break. Vehicle deformation occurs in sequencer but no glass break. I came to find that Take Recorder doesn’t record particle simulations (i.e. Niagra Glass) which is what runs the glass break simulation.
In the tutorial he plays back the recording in sequencer and glass breaks. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can record the glass breaking or trigger it manually? I reached out to the tutorial creator but haven’t heard back.
There must be a way to record it if it’s occurring in gameplay. Worst case scenario is I render the scene, isolate the glass break, run gameplay from the scene camera, screen record and composite the glass break into the render. However, I’d rather not do that.
If anyone has any suggestions, I greatly appreciate any info. If you are willing to open the city sample vehicle map file and mess with it, I’d be happy to pay for your time. I’m working on a time sensitive project and really need the glass to break.
When I position a vehicle on top of the recorded vehicle and render, the glass will break and be damaged from the falling vehicle. This must have something to do with simulation settings. https://youtu.be/9fu4iiHmO_I
Thank you,
