Unreal has been crashing consistently when trying to create a movie using the matinee tool. I have a simple scene with a single camera actor. The scene is set up so that a short matinee video plays at the start of the game, then the player is given control of the player character. The matinee video works great in the editor and game, I am only having difficulty when I try to have the engine render out a movie file. When I go to render out the video a small window will pop up (same aspect ratio as the video im trying to create) for a few seconds, then the window will turn white and crash (it does not crash the editor, just the render window).
My goal was to create an architectural walk through and model, but I need the video separated out for a presentation. Does anyone have any ideas (other than the -dumpmovie command line)?
I’ve tried to output video using other project scenes as well (including scenes provided by Unreal). I get the same result regardless which project I try. I have tried using different engine versions (4.6 and 4.7) with no luck. I’ve also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the engine, with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Well I figured it out, and thought id share. I had an oculus DK2 plugged in while I was trying to render out the video. I unplugged the USB and the HDMI inputs from the oculus, and it worked. Hopefully this helps someone.
