Material glitch/bug

Hello, im begginer user, could you please help with this ? but i think its a bug.

Hey there @nEophyteX! Welcome to the community! It looks like you could be maxing out your VRAM, texture pool is overdrawn, or your GPU is struggling for some reason or other. Does this occur when you dock the material window and only render one or the other?

VRAM should be ok. And yes, it appears when window is dock as well.
But weird thing is that in a first few days of using engine it was working properly. I was creating material exact same way and it was working.

Material in content drawer dissapears after closing engine.

And after import from quixel bridge again it appears but like this, see below
image
without the material orb.

This material can be used and works.

It looks like they are virtual textures this time around. Did your project settings change in between this import and the last? Has it subsided in the preview viewport?

Im sorry, this material disappearing was my fault. I just don’t save it.
But back to main problem below…

It started appearing after i delete my first project “EpicZenGarden”,That was my the very first project. There it was working.
And than i create “architecture” “Blank”

And when i try to create landsscape material this problem appears.

*I was try to reinstall whole thing twice, even trough revo uninstaller which take every file with it and problem is still there.

Does this apply to other materials or just landscape materials? If only landscape materials, may I see your layer blend setup? These graphical artifacts learn towards drivers usually, but not always. Does this also occur on DX11?

Problem was with every material but only in material graph preview. Only land scape material didnt work when it was used on a landscape. Material used on cube object was working.

But now when i changed to DX11 everything is fine…

Thank you!

Ah that definitely points us to a graphics driver issue over all else. I’ve got a couple of light ones to try, but there’s tons of heavier options should we need to. Swap back to DX12 and let’s try a couple out.

So the safest and quickest of the fixes comes in where Nvidia settings may have had a weird issue.

Restore them to defaults:

Then, if that doesn’t work, head back into the project settings and change your AA to FXAA or None:

If that doesn’t work, try swapping your video drivers from GameReady to Studio.

[No image for this one as I uninstalled the GeforceExperience to test a previous fix]

Back up your project first, go and delete the shadercache and some other data that will regenerate. The whole DDC folder, Intermediate folder, and then the two shader folders in saved.

After this point we get to dig a bit deeper, let me know if either of those stop the issue in DX12!

Change of AA settings doesn’t work but when i was changing it way of glitching material was changing. I have “AMD Sapphire Radeon RX 6800” GPU so im not sure how to restore 3D settings… Shader memory maybe? and GameReady and Studio drivers are also Nvidia’s drivers right?.

Sorry about that! Answered too many Nvidia questions around the same time and must have got a little mixed up. Your settings should be AMD Radeon settings. Do you use any third party utilities like MSI afterburner or other overlays/GPU utilities? The fact that it’s not crashing makes it hard to recommend full threads based on the DX12 issues.

Yeah, i have a AMD software to graphic card settinhs. I have no utilities, i have brand new builded PC. But one thing got on my mind… I think that everything started after upgrading on Win11. Could it related ?

Windows 11 does bring some changes that have been reported to cause some minor instabilities, however after updating GPU drivers it’s usually no issue.

Hello, i accidentaly solve my problem when i was watching youtube vid.tut. This man is also using Radeon graphic card and problem is “Ray Tracing”

Ahhhh that could be because the card itself doesn’t support Hardware Raytracing or the drivers handling it are failing. Either way, excellent find! In your case software will have to do.
