Material editor stats window is not updating while working on a blueprint. How to fix this?

So when using the Materials Editor, at least for a Material Layer, if I inadvertently break a node, a Textures Sample without a texture for instance, the node shows an error but nothing appears in the stats, neither does it on save when it compiles or on loading it for the first time, after reopening the project. I got a message occasionally but this to seems to have stopped. From memory, I thought in the stats window you were able to double click on the entry to jump to the error, at least in the material graph. Now on 5.4.2, if it wasn’t a figment of my imagination, it may have previously disappeared, in an earlier version, but most importantly is there a way I can force the stats window to refresh automatically? Assuming it should show the kind of error still.

If I use Output Log I can see the error but it is not always immediately visible without a scroll and a search for a sometimes needle in a haystack?

But output from the said log reveals some possible issues that may or may not be related, above my security level I am afraid!
