Material Editor Colour Picker inaccurate sampling

Hello there!

I found that when sampling from a V3 node’s thumbnail the colour value is slightly off, when sampling from within the node itself the value is true. (You can see after Param 2 samples Param the value is altered.)

Whether this is simply a way unreal displays colours I’m not sure, but any clarification would be wonderful,

This may be happening because somewhere in that pipe (making color, displaying it picking again), may be hidden gamma correction calculation.

So try to “fix” it by finding what gamma correction is used.

ps.
It may be possible to make custom editor tool widget that gives proper values. However i am not sure you can have picking tool scripted inside editor tool.

I figured it might be something under the hood like that, it’s useful if just to know that there’s nothing else at play! It wasn’t anything vital.
