Material breaking when staticmesh is instanced from foliage tool

I have 4 tree models, which all share a material, just some tree bark. When you manually drag in the model, its perfectly fine, no issues with the material anywhere.

However, when i use the foliage tool to paint the map, the material completely breaks and starts to “flicker”, and i’ve no idea why.
