Here is a proper workaround.
rotation fix still still leaves texture mirrored, as if we were looking through back of texture. true workaround is to pre-swap UV components.
As a bonus your material will run faster than rotate fix.

It’s May 2015, more then one year (!) has passed, and this simple but horrible bug still isn’t fixed in official build. Seriously, WTF…

I just tested this in 4.8 Preview 4, and I’m not able to reproduce it. UE-4292 was fixed for 4.8. Are you seeing something different in preview? Can you give me exact repro steps so I can see it here? Thanks!

no, I’m working with latest stable ATM (4.7.6). Glad to hear, that it was finally fixed.
