I want to use Maya live link for some animations in Unreal. I understand the terrains in UE4 are mostly heightmapped terrain. Is there a way to match the heightmap values in Maya so that your animations come back to Unreal matching the terrain? I apologize if this question’s been answered before, but I haven’t been able to find one and most of the examples I’ve seen are on the default surface of Unreal or a flat floor. I’m basically talking about being able to take a horse and rider and animate them so the ground contact matches when you bring it back into Unreal. Can someone shed some light on how best to accomplish this?
