Massive Slowdowns when opening Assets

When opening 3D Assets, especially assets associated with a Skeletal Mesh
(AnimSequence, PhysicsAsset,AnimMontage,AnimBP)
My system freezes for a while until the Assert is opened.
(I can’t do anything then. My whole computer freezes)

Intel(R) Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, 2667 MHz
NVidia GeForce GTX 660

When you say that the computer is freezing, is it for a short time or does it last a long time? Do you end up having to restart the computer? If it is the former, can you check the Output Log for any error messages? Also, please provide the log files from your editor session, which can be found under the project’s directory in Saved/Logs. If you are having to restart your computer, I would suggest attempting to get logs from the Windows Event Viewer, which you can find instructions for here.

Well, when opening said assets, it freezes my system completely (I can’t do anything anywhere)
However, the Log doesn’t say anything important or suspicious.

I didn’t wait for too long. Please take a look at
[2017.09.25-17.43.44:395][921]LogRenderer: Reallocating scene render targets to support 1292x756 Format 10 NumSamples 1 (Frame:1).
It took almost a minute (the time I waited before rebooting my pc)
Maybe that’s the problem?

I don’t know if the error report is relevant. Yesterday i tried to open an asset and it wasn’t opened after 15 minutes. So I rebooted the PC afterwards.

Edit:
I migrated my assets to a new empty 4.18 P1 Project and in this project everything is fine.

It seems like it may of been a conversion issue but also related to your particular content as I’m unable to reproduce it. If the issue returns, I would suggest reopening the question but until then, if migration fixed the issue, we can consider this resolved.
