There is bug in masking from mesh (never worked as it should). I’ve also tried to create mask in PS, but than I have orientation problem. I believe that Reality Scan has problem when camera orientation is turned on. Is there a workaround for this problem?
See problem when I use masking from mesh:
Masking in Photoshop (mask is the wrong location):
Please, give us possibility to create mask in the RealityScan
Hello @ArchCro
This could be just an issue that you are using only 5 images. How do look the other masks?
Regarding the rotations and masks, how do the image and mask look outside of RealityScan? What will happen when you set the Rotation as Normal under IMAGE 2D/VIEW/Display:
Also, would it be possible to share your data with us?
I will add your request to the feature requests database.
EDIT:
This is probably an explanation for the first issue.
As the model is not generated from a lot of images and the object is not covered well, it can happen, that when you delete one part of the model, you can see the inner part of it. As image sees that part of the mesh, there is no hole and the pixels are reprojected. Therefore the mask is somehow cut:
Actually I have 1821 photos and + 6 scan position (36 inputs).
Problem is, that the part I want to mask is humidity data logger that is present on maybe 5% of total inputs, and RealityScan is good in “auto masking” when meshing, but not so good when texturing:
It makes no difference when i set rotation to normal (or any other side of rotation).
