Martin Mitov - Polaris - Sci-fi Modular Kit

Polaris is a Sci-fi modular kit with AAA quality intended for highly detailed next gen games and movies, with a focus on performance and flexibility.

All assets have respective material instances with masks, allowing you to change the asset's parent material and swap out colors, surface types and metallic + reflection while keeping its dirt mask.

Most material instances also have a Manual Paint mode which enables you to factor in Vertex Paint. Vertex Paint goes on top of the default asset mask: 0 - cleans the asset of all dirt, 0.5. preserves 100% of the mask's influence; 1 - adds dirt.

Vertex Paint is heavily reliant on Nanite - for Nanite meshes it has to use VT textures, while for non-Nanite meshes it uses regular vertex paint.

The main master material of the project carries out 324 instructions in most permutations.

Parallax decals carry out 314 instructions in most permutations.

The project is intended to be used with Nanite and Lumen, however all meshes have a separate lightmap UV channel and can be used in a baked lighting scenario if you turn on Allow Static Lighting. You would also have to generate LODs if you wish to disable Nanite - to ensure maximum performance.
