Frontier – Field Power Distribution is a modular sci-fi infrastructure asset pack designed to connect power generation with powered equipment in sci-fi environments.
The pack includes a portable field transformer together with modular raw-energy and standardized power connectors, enabling developers to build believable energy networks between generators, storage systems, and powered devices.
Assets function both as deployable infrastructure and environmental storytelling elements, supporting exploration, engineering, and survival-oriented gameplay.
System Context
Field Power Distribution represents the distribution layer within a modular energy ecosystem.
Example system flow:
Generator → Power Distribution → Tools / Workstations / Infrastructure
This makes the asset particularly useful for projects involving:
• engineering systems
• base building or survival gameplay
• modular infrastructure
• interactive environment setups
Included Assets
Power Distribution Unit
• Field Power Converter (hero asset)
• Mounted Power Converter
• Power Converter Stand
Raw Energy Connectors
• Raw Connector – Male
• Raw Connector – Female
• Raw Connector – Wall Mount
Standard Power Connectors
• Standard Connector – Male
• Standard Connector – Female
• Standard Connector – Wall Mount
These components allow developers to visually communicate energy connections between generators, storage units, and powered equipment.
Materials & Customization
Assets use a mask-driven PBR material workflow optimized for real-time rendering and flexible customization.
Adjustable parameters include:
• Color tint layers
• Text / symbol overlays
• Smoothness, metallic, and clearcoat
• Wear, rust, and dirt
• Surface variation (color and normal detail)
• Emission color and intensity
Material variants:
• Engineer Yellow
• Neutral Grey
• Desert Beige
All variants are available in clean and worn presets.
A Frontier Material Helper tool is included to streamline material assignment and variant management.
AI usage
AI-assisted tools were used during development to support editor scripting and shader workflow implementation. All 3D assets, models, and materials were created manually.
Integration
Assets follow the Frontier production framework with:
clear asset structure
consistent scale
grounded industrial sci-fi design
clean shading and optimized meshes
customizable mask-driven PBR materials
This allows seamless integration with both custom gameplay systems and existing environment assets.
