Hi,
The marketplace seems like very good kick-start for a new project, I’ve used it myself on both free and paid packages. I think it needs few strict metadata-level tags to help categorise the content - especially on blueprint category.
First and most obvious that came to my mind (due to my own search) is support of network play. For example inventory management and game skeleton blueprints are right now real question marks; if they are not designed for network-play they’re close to worthless for multiplayer, as the core of them needs to be revisited/redesigned for that purpose.
Now I’m not saying that they aren’t, there just isn’t any strong indication whether they are or not - and whether that’s a direction that their makers are supporting now or in the future.
So to begin with:
- Simple tag “server-networking supported” (what ever wording)
Then to later on especially on blueprints:
- Profiler level statistics (could be baked in to record-monitor the traffic in editor gameplay perhaps to get rough estimates?)
- This is something that could/should be recorded at blueprint level profiling, but especially to monitor in server load for time spent in certain module blueprint code
The latter is of course much more difficult to do on individual blueprint packages alone, but I’m foreseeing the growth of blueprint-only games where we’re starting to get community built larger blueprint-bundle usage games.
