Mapmakiing Problems

Hello all,
I’ve been trying to make an ARK mod and have run into some problems…I’m making a mod that includes a map. When I went to try to paint the map, nothing happened the whole thing was still pitch black.
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or it’s a problem with UE4. Some help would be really appreciated.

You ever figure this out? I am having a similar problem with only certain areas staying black and not allowing me to paint it.
