Does it have a map icon? Should have orange underline.
Perhaps you have overwritten the map with a normal asset file? If the underline is blue its a blueprint and not a map.
It has an orange underline so it is a map.
If you double click the map directly does it cause the same error message?
From the icon you can see its called “FirstPersona_A…”
That would mean it’s either renamed or a new map.
If the map loads via double click then it was probably just renamed.
Go into edit => project settings => maps & modes => and for the two maps choose your working map. It’s probably pointing towards an old map, that’s why you get an error on opening the project.
I think I have lost the map completely!
Yesterday I watched a tutorial about how to restore a deleted map and then
I got a saved version of my map on my files and put it on the project and now the only map I see is that one but when I put it on the map it still does not load!
The file probably got corrupted. Maybe you had two different instances of the editor open at once and tried to save the file causing an error.
Try going into some of your blueprints & look for compile errors that might be interfering with the map loading. (though it should load with a “bad” image icon on the BP)
Check whatever assets that use sprite trigger box and collisionComp then maybe they have compile errors and that may be stopping the file from loading.
If the map got corrupted then there is no real way to fix it (no tools). You would have to resort to a backup if you have one.
Loss of data is a hard lesson to learn. Look into data backup via a local repository either through git, github, perforce or many other version control software.
Thank you for your help!
I am thinking of getting this map make a new project and then put it in the file of the new project and then correct the errors if there is!
Nope. The file has been probably corrupted so we cant probably do anything!
Thanks for your help though!
