Mandatory disclosure for Unreal weapon assets with non-grip root/pivot

I’m starting to notice a weapon assets where the root bone / pivot isn’t at the grip, but somewhere random. You usually don’t realize this until after buying and trying to attach it to hand_r. The way it’s been done in Unreal for the past hundred years.

When that happens, it makes basic Unreal stuff way more painful than it should be:
IK_Gun, hand IK, suddenly you’re fixing offsets per weapon for something that isn’t obvious from the store page.

I’m not asking to force creators to change their rigs — just asking FAB to require a clear warning on the store page when a weapon uses a non-grip-aligned root/pivot.

Something as simple as:
“weapon root/pivot is not placed at the grip. Manual alignment and IK fixes may be required.”

Hi @DomusLudus. I’ve let the team know about your request. Thank you for taking the time to reach out via the forums!

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.

I get that EU consumer regulations aren’t exactly bedtime reading for a US-based multinational, but just a friendly reminder: omitting key information needed to make a purchase decision is considered misleading.
