Making a physical collision ponytail for a character

Hi folks,

I have a hair model, it’s a long hair with a ponytail. The ponytail consists of a few bones, the physics asset makes sure they can “swing around”.
This is working as expected.

However, when I attach this hair model to my head, I found no way to make it collide with the character mesh. I’ve tried several approaches and settings.
The ponytail either collides with the capsule (and acting weird) or it does not collide with anything.

Has anybody any suggestion how to make this work? Has anyone something similar working and is willing to share some clues?
