For my new game Temple of Aluxes I implemented a hand based scanner by using location-based opacity.
I thought you might be interested to see the result so I made a Level with a variety of objects that interact with the scanner to show you.
You can hide objects or unhide objects when the scanner is overlapping the mesh.
Works with everything I tried. Mesh, opacity masked textures, text and splines. I’m really happy with the smoothness of the scanner.
Good to hide stuff in VR puzzle games.
