Make sequence with character's bp with different gear equipped

Hello everyone, my character BP is made of a main skeletal mesh and 6 children which are all the pieces of gear equipped (torso for chest piece, hands for gloves, and so on). The problem is that I want the character to appear in a sequence with the gear equipped during the gameplay instead of the default gear. For example, my default gear is naked, during the game I equipped a chest piece, and the sequence shows my character still naked.
I made the sequence by dropping my character BP inside the map and adding it to it (track/adding to sequencer/BP character). Perhaps that was the mistake I made.
