Occasional sales kill our overall earnings.
FAB should rather completely focus on bug fixing because it has the highest priority and on finally implementing all the good and resonable stuff that we still miss from Sketchfab instead of making waves with controversial ideas how to make price dumping great again.
If a seller thinks his assets are too expensive then he is free to go down with the price, always, anytime, 24/7/365, he does not need “occasional sales” and above all no occasional 70% off sales. And if he wants to do price dumping than he can always too, FAB allows prices at 0.99 Cents already.
So, when FAB announces such occasional sales long in advance and claims “up to 70% off” then;
- not only it hurts FAB´s own regulation in regards to the price dumping issue
- but also the reasoning is weird, because one would assume that many or even most buyers would not purchase something at a regular price over a quite long period of time, wait out and grab only stuff 70% off within the sales period no matter what it is, just for the sick of grabbing something 70% off instead of at a fair and competitive price.
It´s not just a no-win situation it´s rather a lose-lose situation. FAB loses money and serious vendors/sellers lose money too no matter if they participate or not. And if they lose money and they do, they start migrating to other platforms. They already do from another reasons.
The problem with this is also that FAB trains potential buyers that way and forces this buyer behaviour since they just wait out till the next 70 off sales only to grab 70 off stuff for the sick of grabbing 70 off stuff instead of grabbing 365 days a year assets at fair and competitive prices.
So, also here, how does it comply with what FAB stated lastly so crisp and clear?

"While a dollar change may not seem enough to warrant a review, any price changes must undergo a product submission review. The reason is that the Epic Games Store is (!!!) committed to facilitating fair and competitive pricing (!!!). Additionally, some regions have laws to protect users against price gouging and price manipulation.
We hope this provides you with some insight. We highly recommend checking out our Pricing Overview article if you have any additional questions or concerns."
