Good day,
We are a small architecture office that works with both ArchiCAD and SketchUp to create 3D designs, which we then transfer to Twinmotion for visualization and rendering. Recently, we’ve been working on a large project: a five-story office building, including a full interior design. For this project, we chose to work with SketchUp. However, since we are still using SketchUp Make 2017, we are unfortunately unable to use the Datasmith exporter.
We were using Twinmotion 2025.1, and recently the 2025.1.1 update was released. A pop-up appeared prompting us to install the update, and there was no option to decline it. Without giving it much thought, we installed the update.
Initially, everything seemed fine—until we updated our SketchUp model. After the update, all Twinmotion textures were wiped from the model. No matter what we try, there seems to be no way to prevent this from happening.
I’m not asking for help fixing this specific issue. This is a complaint regarding the forced update of Twinmotion. More specifically, I want to understand why it’s not possible to roll back to a previous version. There is no way to return from version 2025.1.1 to 2025.1, and because of this, we have lost valuable time and may now miss our deadline.
Please consider making it possible to decline updates—or at the very least, to revert to a previous sub-version. Just to clarify, I’m not referring to downgrading to version 2024, which I know is possible, but rather to a previous sub-version within the same release year.
Thank you in advance,
Mike
