In the 4.16 preview 2, noticed an issue where if I use the ProfileGPU command, where every second, the Unreal Engine process takes another 1-2gb of ram. It just keeps going too, I tested it a few times and it happened every time in my project, over 26gb is the highest I’ve seen before killing the process.
Hi Daniel,
I’m not able to reproduce this on my end. I’ve got a few questions:
- Can you send me your dxdiag?
- How much RAM does your project use up normally before the memory leak?
- Are you opening any specific properties from the list at the bottom of the profiler when this happens?
- Does it happen in a blank level without any of your game elements? If it doesn’t, then we’ll go from there. Could be something in your level that’s causing it.
Can I get your PC specs in the form of dxdiag info? We’ve been unable to repro this on our end in a VR project.
I ran into this issue as well in 4.16.2, I tested with a new project.
-Create a new project in 4.16.2 using the VR project settings
-Run in VR preview (I have vive connected)
-Task manager reports consistent 3.5 G used
-Enter console command ProfileGPU
-Exit with Esc button and watch Ram consumption climb until maxed out
(16Gb for me)
I am also experiencing this issue with 1.16.3
I was able to run the command without issue yesterday. I’ve made no changes to any .ini file or changes to the project since I last ran the command. Today if I profilegpu a memory leak begins and eventually crashes unreal engine.
Mine is not a VR project
I just experienced the same issue. Using 4.19.2 version. Don’t know if it is related but I installed oculus yesterday and today when I open profiler (ctr+shift+,) the Unreal process instantly consumes all 32GB of RAM and stay unresponsive.
