I’m experiencing a major discrepancy between the download size reported by UEFN and the download size displayed in the Creator Portal for the exact same private version.
UEFN reports the following:
- Private version code:
5142-1665-4898 - Download size: 111.77 MiB / 400 MiB
- Memory usage: 40,487 / 100,000
- Publication validation:
Successful - Resource status: No issues detected
- Windows platform preparation: Successful
However, the Creator Portal reports the following for the same private version:
- Private version code:
5142-1665-4898 - Download size: 428.55 MB / 400 MB
- Memory usage: 38,611 / 100,000
- Resource status: No issues detected
- Verse validation: Completed
- Island transactions: No issues detected
- Publication:
Blocked due to download size
The private version code is identical in both screenshots, yet UEFN confirms that the project is ready for publication while the Creator Portal blocks it for exceeding the download size limit.
I have already tried the following:
- Restarting UEFN.
- Renaming the local
DerivedDataCachefolder to force Unreal to rebuild its cache. - Creating and validating new private versions.
None of these steps has resolved the issue.
I have also observed significant changes in UEFN’s reported download size between consecutive versions, even though the upload size remained practically unchanged.
Expected result:
UEFN and the Creator Portal should report consistent download sizes for the same private version, or there should be a clear explanation for the discrepancy.
Actual result:
UEFN reports only 111.77 MiB and passes publication validation, while the Creator Portal reports 428.55 MB and blocks publication.
The difference is far too large to be explained by the MiB/MB unit conversion alone.
Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution? Could this be related to corrupted cached data, the cooking process, or an inconsistency in how UEFN and the Creator Portal calculate the download size?
