Magic Settings V1.0.0
Magic Settings turns the slowest part of cinematic Unreal work — hunting down dozens of scattered console variables and project settings — into one panel and one click.
Pick your stage. Apply once.
EDITOR READY — a responsive working stage for layout, modeling, landscape, materials, and lighting, with a preview close to the final image.
CINEMATIC BUILD — the high-quality finishing stage for completed scenes being polished.
FINAL RENDER — maximum output quality for locked shots, hero products, and render submission.
Every stage applies a curated, documented package of rendering CVars, project settings, and Heterogeneous Volume quality values - tuned against the engine's own scalability targets, with a note on every single value explaining what it buys you.
Machine-aware from the first click.
Magic Settings detects your GPU's VRAM and sizes the texture streaming pool, Nanite visible-cluster capacity, and Virtual Shadow Map budget to match — from 12 GB cards up to an RTX 5090. Manual override is one click.
Pro profiles when you need to go deeper.
The Advanced area exposes direct, honest profiles for Lumen (Cine Motion / Hero Still), Virtual Shadow Maps (Production / Hero / Extreme), Nanite cluster caps, MegaLights ray-tracing bias, texture pool size, ambient occlusion modes, and Path Tracer denoising (NNE stills / NFOR animation) — plus one-click packs for the built-in cinematic plugins (Movie Render Pipeline, OpenColorIO, Datasmith, USD, Alembic, Modeling Tools, and more).
Hero Asset Prep.
Select Static Meshes in the Content Browser and apply close-up Nanite encoding profiles (position, normal, and tangent precision) with queued rebuilds, full undo support, and a right-click context-menu action.
Guided preflight, not guesswork.
A traffic-light status line and a full check list scan the settings that commonly ruin renders - inflated Screen Percentage, disabled Virtual Shadow Maps, undersized Nanite cluster caps, missing cinematic plugins - each with a one-click fix.
Create MRQ Presets.
Save the active stage’s rendering CVars as a reusable Movie Render Queue Console Variables preset directly inside your project.
Every CVar that Magic Settings applies is also registered in the engine's Console Variables Editor, so you can audit exactly what changed.
A built-in safe restart saves your work, closes the editor cleanly, and reopens the project.
Magic Settings does not blindly push sliders to maximum. It applies what buys visible quality, explains what only inflates cost, and leaves everything you did not ask for untouched — each package (Rendering / Project / Volumes) can be excluded individually
