MACOS can't find any video or sound capture devices on UE4

I’m using macos10.15, when I wanted to get a video from mac camera/Digi input devices, I found that there are none capture devices on the media player. I went through the docs and still can’t find a way to fix it, I guess its because ue4 didn’t request the camera permission, plz help me!

I think the solution is to switch to PC. I just spec’d out a very pricey machine…but did some testing on a similar one over the weekend and holy ■■■■ is it night and day better, compared to using a MAC. The communication between UE4 and PC seems to be SO much more fluid and streamlined…MAc I was constantly having weird bugs and issues. That is probably why we are not getting an answer…

I’m working on forcing camera permissions. Will report back here if I get it to work.

Forced Camera permissions in system prefs via a long rabbit hole of steps, and still no dice.

I bought a new M1 MacBook Pro 16gb only to try UE for my green screen virtual production. But still crossing my fingers!

Did you ever get it to work with your M1 MacBook??? I’m ■■■■■■ I can’t get the freakin camera to work! This is ridiculous!! I’m trying to do virtual production as well but what’s the point if you can’t even get the camera to work???

No man… still…no hope! Useless investment on M1. I could have bought a Windows pc instead. In Windows , even if don’t have external camera device by default, UE will show it’s webcam…!!

Nothing new to report here. Just jumping back in to continue to apply my teaspoon of pressure to Epic. Fix this!
