MacBook Pro Apple M2 Max overheats while using UE

Hi everyone
I’m currently facing a concerning issue with my MacBook Pro with the Apple M2 Max chip and 64 GB Memory. Whenever I launch Unreal Engine, the system rapidly overheats, reaching temperatures as high as 110°C and beyond. The heat is so intense that even the keyboard becomes untouchable. I’ve experimented with various Unreal Engine versions and updates, and I’ve ensured that my macOS is up-to-date. Surprisingly, I don’t have similar problems with other software like C4D, Blender, and After Effects eventhough I rendered and work on many highly CPU/GPU demanding project

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue.

Thank you!

Yes, I am having the same issue. I did see a video where another dev had a similar issue that was resolved using software called Turbo Boost Switcher. He claimed that the turbo feature in the Mac is hyper active and can be turned off. I have not tried, but since you posted this and no one has answered, I am hoping maybe this will help us both.

Turbo Boost Switcher did not help. I tried it and it is for older intel based Macs. I am still experiencing the overheating issue, which is so disappointing as this Mac runs circles around other PCs. I am frustrated to the point of either switching to another game engine or switching to PC.

Hello, I’m having the same issue. Unreal Engine is unusable on my Macbook Pro M2. If I continue using the program I’ll certainly get my computer fried. Any updates on possible solutions?
