Hey everyone,
I’m just getting started with Twinmotion and basically learning everything from scratch, but I’m really excited to dive into it and build up my workflow step by step.
Right now, I’m trying to figure out the hardware side of things. I’ve been an Apple user for years and I’m fully in the macOS ecosystem. I also use Archicad for architectural work, which has been running fine on Mac for a long time, so I’ve never really had to think about switching.
I recently installed Twinmotion 2026.1 on my MacBook Pro (M1 Pro, 16GB RAM), and honestly… the performance is pretty disappointing, even with very simple scenes. It feels pretty much unusable for anything beyond basic testing.
Now I’m considering an upgrade, but I’d really prefer to stay on Mac if possible. I’m looking at options like the Mac Studio with M4 Max, or even the M3 Ultra, but that’s a very serious investment, so I want to be sure before going in that direction.
So I’d really appreciate some honest real-world feedback from people who’ve actually used Twinmotion in production:
Is Twinmotion on high-end Apple Silicon (like M4 Max / M3 Ultra) actually viable for serious work? Or is it still just not on the same level as a decent Windows + RTX setup?
At this point I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth staying in the Mac ecosystem or if I should just switch to a Windows workstation and move on.
Thanks a lot in advance for any insights ![]()
