There is existing following very annoying bug on mac editor since 4.6 and on latest 4.7 preview build 5.
It happens mostly in cascade. It is possible to reproduce this that way:
Select some emitter module in cascade.
Try to edit something in module details panel.
On first click module will be automatically deselected to standard particle details. Like if it was clicked on some free space.
Reason: window captures wrong mouse coordinates or wrong position and thinks that I clicked something else.
Workaround: resize window (make smaller - bigger again)
It does not happen only in cascade but mostly in cascade so it is hard to work with cascade now.
This bug did not exist in 4.5.
We weren’t able to reproduce this behavior here, but it sounds like it may be an issue with your system (referenced here: [4.7] Editor Lags Mac - Platform & Builds - Epic Developer Community Forums ). Does this happen if you wait for a moment before clicking in details panel? Are you running with your Engine Scalability Settings down and Realtime disabled in your Cascade Viewport?
Just to keep you updated, we haven’t been able to reproduce this yet, but we’re checking on some older machines to see if it’s hardware related. I will keep you informed of our progress. Thanks for your patience!
I reopen this because seems that this bug was not fixed… I do not have it so often anymore but still annoying.
Both 4.6 and last 4.7 (I guess in 4.7 less than in 4.6)
When selecting module in cascade doubleclick helps mostly to be sure that next click will not deselect anything.
I love engine futures but am hating ue editor on mac slowly… There are so many bugs, random crashes and lags last time. It is just not possible to work calmly this way. It was better 4.0 - 4.5
We’re aware of this issue, and it happens intermittently on our machines as well. We’re testing on machines closer to your specs, searching for a reliable reproduction. I’ll keep you updated if I see any progress on this. For now, you’ll need to keep using your workaround of resizing window. Thanks for your patience!
