I’ve been thinking of getting a 7 core M1 MacBook Air with 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD as I heard really great things about it. I currently have an AMD 5500u Dell laptop with modified 20GB Ram and a 1TB SSD. Unreal Engine runs barely on the integrated Radeon GPU, but then the laptop throttles and I have to be plugged in mostly from high battery usage. I was researching the M1 MBA and it seems to have it all: High performance, very very great efficiency that normal usage on battery can last days, and a very thin and portable form factor. But all of this comes with the change to use ARM, which is a new transition for a lot of software, Unreal probably included. So I’m wondering what do M1 UE users experience? Do you get compatibility issues, bugs, often crashes, etc.?? I am used to macOS so switching the OS isn’t a big deal, asking about ARM.
