lyra player controlled metahuman animation issue

Hi there,

I have an issue playing certain animations on my player controller methuman character in the lyra starter game. The character itself is working fine, the issue is playing animations that are not included with the lyra starter game.

I have retargeted the imported animations to the metahuman skeleton as they were previously for UE4. I then tested the animations by dragging my characters blueprint (so this creates a random metahuman in my scene not my actual lyra player controlled character) into the scene and then assigning the animation to the “body”.

This works great and as you can see this works great and the character punches.

However when I try playing the same animation with my player controlled lyra character (same metahuman), nothing happens.

Every other standard animation that came with Lyra does work however using my blueprint, e.g. emoting, sitting on a bench etc.

So I believe it is unlikely an issue with the actual animation as it works with my metahuman, and unlikely an issue with my BP approach, as the player controlled character plays all other animations in the list.

I literally have no idea to how even troubleshoot this now and have no idea why this isn’t working. Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies in advance if this is a basic question - I am a beginner.
