Luoshuang's GPULightmass

Thanks! @NiukNiuk

Hello, I’m new user for unreal engine i v-ray user before. please kindly help i have the problem with gpu lightmass for unreal 4.23.1, every time i try to use the gpu lightmass, it always error " out of memory", i use nvidia gtx 1050 Ti, 4gb Vram.

Thanks before

you need have most Vram or your scene is to much complex

so need to upgrade my vga, because my scene already simplified. or keep using cpu lightmass.
thanks Julian Vinet.

Finished my scene with GPU Lightmass https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v1O3OO was going to bake at 2048 but it crashed cause i forgot to increase my TDR also the jump from 1024 to 2048 bake time is long 1024 bake time was 28 hours 2048 was like 4 days and like 10 hours when it crashed. Using a RTX 2080 ti

Also work around for cloth with 1 side face how i did it:
~ Bake scene with gpu lightmass.
~ convert back to cpu.
~ select the cloths and set lighting channel 1 or 2 beside 0, 0 is main scene.
~ make a new map and add it in the level context and setup simple lighting scene close to your scene, all light source for the cloth must be in the same light channel as cloths.
~ bake and adjust light intensity until its satisfying.

Finally got some free time to sit down and get GPU Lightmass working with 4.24-preview-4

Works nicely with 4.24.0.p4. This feature is invaluable when using UE. Very very much appreciated Pax!

Same Here ! Thanks

thank you sir!

Hi, what is your light setup ! is there an HDRi + skylight + direct light sun ?!
I can’t have clear white wall even with production build !? any help . thx

Hi Any update on this working in AMD Cards? Can we expect a release soon?

anyone knows if swarm will read a pc with multiple GPU using GPU lightmass?

Hi **

Please i want a replay on this question … i need to buy a PC around 1000 - 1200 $ maybe i can increase a little bit and my main render in UE4 is your GPU render and i have a very old pc "my last project cant handled it so i go for cloud server to finish it " so what type of (CPU - GPU with good amount of CUDA Cores - Ram’s - MotherBoard) please i need a replay from you or from any one who understand about PC build .

thank you **

No, but check it again, it was something about in a tread before.

I see Cuda no where but I see it in nvidia panel. Was the CUDa SDK a requirement for this,-I see nothing in OP original statement saying it is . On building light I do see GPU use but its sporadic at best. Give OP warning this is far from useful I’m not horribly surprised .

Cuda option is here:

task manager/performance/select your GPU/select “CUDA” in one of the drop-down menus on the right

Thanks for post, but for me at least, there is no Cuda, under copy ,nor anywhere else, is this expected if all I have installed is the Nvidia driver for my GTX 950, or is its absense because I do not have an RTX card ? Seems unlikely given your card that much more powerful than mine albeit for this heavy lighting work the heftier the better.

Hi! Will be avaible in future for 4.24? I understand that is under development an official solution, but is this one avaible yet in some way?

Get the source and compile it !
