A question has been asked about Rectangular Lights (Rect Lights). They are they are processed by CPU Lightmass not processed by LGPU Lightmass.

The normal default for LGPU is Lighting Production set in BaseLightmass.ini at the bottom section.

Now people are leaving the Lighting setting as Preview. This means that Rect Lights look distorted and low-quality. Some users see it as a fault in LGPU.

You will need to set Lighting Production which will use more CPU and take more overall time to bake.

The way to solve this is the make Rect Light into Emissive light as has been described previously in past posts.

I hope this clears up the mystery with Rect Lights’ quality
