Low Poly: Is it possible to make constantly growing, trim-able hair? (Voxels? Foliage?)

I’m trying to figure out the smartest way to do this and figured I’d get your opinions regarding which trees to start barking up!

I’ve seen the Dynamic Grass System and its nice but I’m trying to sort out of I should adapt that to my taste or start somewhere else myself.

Thoughts?

you may be able to make that a using splines.

One fairly cheap solution that I can think of: You could take a full length piece of it and use world position offsetting to scale the length up and down. Might take a little math to get right. Ultimately, you’d use a blueprint to update a material parameter collection, which would then be read by the material.

Voxel plugin in the forum (has a free version) has complete tesselation. You can add/remove.

Probably not going to have nice wavy hair though… But could be added/removed to the limit of processing power.
If art style was something that had like blocky anime hair it might be perfect.
