Every time you download assets from epic marketplace your actually getting two copies on your disk. one goes where you put it and a copy of that goes into your library. mainly it this finding out how my disk space disappeared so fast. Here’s why… as an example if you download a 5gb file your actually getting 10gb just from that one asset. 5gb goes to your project and the other 5gb goes into a folder in usually
C drive/program files(x86)/Epic Games/Launcher/VaultCache
using windows explorer go to that folder (VaultCache) and right click on it and select properties and see how many gb’s that folder has and space is being used.
Warning if you have a lot of downloads you may poop yer pants. Sure it may be a good backup for lost or misplaced files as I believed I once moved them to an external HD once but they all came back it seems. Is this really necessary to take up all that room. what may have to be done is to clean out the library from the launcher online after making a backup externally. Anyways Long story short…This is where all your disk space is being taken up so consider managing your library assets accordingly if disk space becomes an issue. Cheers Everyone!

The Vault size is indicated in the library:
You can identify downloaded assets easily because they show their cache size, if you want to remove them just click the arrow and then “Remove local content”:

You can also edit the Vault location and set it to a secondary HDD if you don’t want to “waste” space on your main SSD

legendary, thank you.
I did not know this at all, this is incredibly useful. The Matrix City demo wiped out my storage and I still immediately deleted it from cache once it downloaded.
