One of my favorite things about unreal is that all the features felt like they were designed to work together, by the same team. Using Unity as a counterpoint, you end up cobbling together features that feel like they were all designed by different teams who didn’t talk much.
Lately I’m noticing features just don’t fit the unreal mold. Using state trees as an example. Parameters are passed around and set differently than any other variables within unreal. Category, that previously was for organization, now change functionality.
Maybe unreal is transitioning to a new workflow, but I would love to see things work the same across the editor, if for no other reason than to increase accessibility and to improve ramp in time for new employees.
