Losing hard disk space

Hi, I am a complete newbie and need help with this problem. I am using Win7

I have a low amount of space on C drive (15gb) so I installed UE on E drive (lots of space) .

Yesterday I launch UE a few times, opened one of the demo projects just to have a look and saved it to E drive. Today I see that I have 5gb free space on C.
So I launched UE once more and did not open a project but I immediately noticed I had lost another 2gb on C drive…

I have had to uninstalled UE and now have my 15gb back on C drive.

What is strange is that just by opening UE it is stealing 2gb of hard disk space and doesn’t let go of it even after a reboot.

Is there a solution here? I really want to have this on my system

Thanks for any help.

By default will Unreal Engine 4 generate the files under the C driver in the document folder.

You can also use a software called “WinDirStat” that can be used to show what files uses most space on any of you harddrives.

Tell me if you need more help

Ahhh! Thank you Blackforcedragon. I will look at that software.
It may be that my system is now playing up as it is giving false hard drive readings and deleting restore points, so it may not have had anything to do with UE.

I will get back here when I sort this out.
