Looking to buy a new PC on a 2500-3000ish dollar budget

It’s been awhile since I’ve bought a PC, hoping for a recommendation. Preferably I would like to buy a fully assembled PC, or at least a case with the motherboard already installed.

I’m developing a game solo so I’ll need this PC to be able to do everything and multi-task pretty well, though I won’t be doing any AAA 3D modeling(or anything close to it most likely).

One unique issue is my work space gets hot in the summer, often well over 100F/38C. So this new PC is probably going to need a good cooling system.

I’m looking to buy this new PC within the next month or two, greatly appreciate any help.

I would recommend not buy a prebuillt computer because not only is it very hard to get exactly what you want, but you’ll end up paying even more than what the system costs because of the branding. Alienware makes some good prebuilt PCs, but not for the price. You can easily save a couple hundred dollars by building it yourself. Also, I would recommend you waiting atleast until mid June to buy because thats what Nvidias new 1080 is being sold, which is much better than any current graphics card available, and if you can wait even longer, wait until AMD releases their lineup.

I personally would recommend iBuyPower. I currently have one of their systems and have never had any problems with it!

Here’s their website: http://www.ibuypower.com/

For Linux PC…

Build your own. It’s more fun and better value for money.

A rule of thumb: Get the best GPU/CPU you can afford.

For storage you want a 500GB SSD and a 2TB SSHD.

Motherboard is purely personal preference.
