Looking for Unreal/Twinmotion mentors: helping 100+ Kenyan gamers move into Virtual Design & Construction (volunteer)

Hi everyone, I’m Andrew Wanjohi, founder of MetaGlobe Technologies / BARBAH Games in Nairobi.

The ask: I’m looking for a few experienced Unreal Engine / Twinmotion / BIM-to-real-time practitioners to volunteer as mentors for Kenyan youth moving from gaming into AEC, specifically Virtual Design & Construction (VDC).

Why now: Kenya is moving toward a national BIM policy, and very few people here have VDC skills. At the same time, we have a large group of young gamers who already know real-time engines, 3D navigation and systems thinking, but no one has shown them how those skills lead to a career in construction.

Where we are: We’ve launched the MetaGlobe VDC Studio (metaglobetechnologies.co.ke), and over 100 gamers have already signed up for this pathway.

How you could help (pick what fits):

  • A monthly 1-hour remote session (Q&A, portfolio review or a workflow demo)
  • Advice on building the curriculum: what a junior VDC/arch-viz artist actually needs to know
  • Reviewing student projects asynchronously

Being upfront: We’re an early-stage startup, and we can’t pay mentors in cash right now. As funding comes in, mentors who’ve been with us from the start will be first in line for paid service-provider roles in the studio. You’ll also be credited publicly as a founding mentor.
