I have a simple character animated for 22 minutes in a 3Ds max scene.
The character has a lot of furs which I have Implemented with Nvidia Hairworks and exported properly. Including the animation.
What I need :
Someone generous to help me with this student project at a low cost.
I need someone to take the content of this pack : Photorealistic Landscape Pack 2 in Environments - UE Marketplace (I will buy it)
AND
Create a simple scene where my character is flying in the scene for 22 minutes (animation already done and exported from Max)
It’s a simple scene specifics will be given to the chosen person.
You must :
Have Hairworks compiled with UE4 4.7.xx (or the latest Hairworks supported release)
Be able to render this 22 - 25 minute long video through Matinee and provide individually layered video files (multi pass files)
Eg : 1 Video with just the grass, 1 Video with just the shadows, 1 Video with just the Model and so on.
Render must be of the highest quality, I have already learned a lot about Unreal Engine in a short while from watching videos and reading manuals but I am no expert, you must be patient with me and explain things that I don’t understand - I’ll have to explain the scene to my teacher. The only reason I can’t do this myself is because I have not used UE4 extensively and I have a crappy computer.
Most importantly you must complete this within a week from the day I assign you the task.
I am looking for the cheapest price. Please remember my pocket is not deep, no parents money, I will be paying you with my scholarship money so please quote me a moderately.
I can pay by Bitcoin by having someone experienced / respected here on the forum to act as the escrow or we can use Upwork/ Elance / Freelancer. In any case I am willing to escrow the full amount but payment will only be released after job completion.
There are a lot of things to consider based on what you wrote…
First UE4 isn’t Maya/Max, there are no custom passes for rendering…there is a tutorial about custom depth and Post process materials, but out of the box UE4 can’t render separate layers, it’ll just render what the camera sees.
Second if you want to save money ( unless you specifically want it because of reasons ) avoid buying the mountain pack and just use the content from the “A boy and his kite” Demo released for free on the marketplace.
Third you need to be more specific about what the character will do…flying around for 22 minutes…well…it gets boring after 2 minutes, so I guess something else will happen…and based about the fact that you already did the animations the character never land on the mountain? because if he does it and you said that you’re going to buy the mountain pack how he can interact with the terrain/mountain?
Fourth if you already did the animation in Max and you need layer passes just create the rest of the scene in Max and render it yourself or, in case you want the results quickly, use a render farm and you’re going to pay far less then someone assembly the entire scene from scratch in UE4.
I think that is the latest version of UE4 who’s source code and files has been made available through Github for compiling with Hairworks. The second reason would be since that IS the version which I have compiled with Hairworks in my primary desktop.
I do have the latest version installed which is available through the Epic DRM but it doesnt support Hairworks.
Thanks for trying to understand the situation here.
It’s a simple lullaby that is on loop but the animation is a semi loop, you know basically same thing with a little variation. The animation of the character or the character itself never interacts with the background or the scenery but I like the way the mountain pack has grasses and flowers that are animated or are ‘animateable’ to respond to wind velocity. Which is what I want in this scene.
The end ‘video’ is designed to be put on a large outdoor display in a day care center or a similar children themed area. Instead of playing a 2 minute loop I am looking to have some variation in the animation.
I know with the amount of tutorials that are out there for UE4 I could do it all on my own but I just do not have a good enough computer to pull it off. YET.
and since I have not found anyone here yet who is outright willing to work on this I have decided to rather put that money which I would have paid a render farm or someone who I would have hired - into building a better computer.
An I5 Skylake 6600K + 16gigs of Ddr3 ram + Gtx 780 I think that should enable me to work smoothly on UE4 for THIS project.
I am not closing this thread until my build off is complete and if anyone has any interest of helping me do this and earn some quick buck, feel free to do so.
