Hey all,
We’re entering a phase of development for our visual novel / collectable-card-game anthology on UEFN were we need to pick up new talent! We have been awarded an Epic Megagrant and hope to have our rather unique games highlighted on the UEFN network when we release our first episode later this year.
TLDR; Send me a DM for a video with more info on what we are working on.
We’ve been working on this anthology for years, paying special attention to how our universe works and functions, and how it shapes the stories we are trying to tell. While we expect the games to have a long journey to being recognized, we are confident that over time we will attract UEFN players with a unique experience not seen on any other platform.
That first episode is a prologue to our main narrative and tells of five sacrifices who arrive at an underwater complex, spending their final days under the supervision of a mysterious and ancient God. While not as ‘big’ as our main narrative, it will help us establish our unique card play and the verse code that supports it, our cinematic/mocap workflows, narrative, lore and some light inventory systems.
Help us create a completely novel sci-fi universe based on a singular unique vision:
UE/UEFN set designer - comfortable and innovative with sets that combine deep sea exploration (submarine, high pressure), space, future and retro minimalist themes. Most visuals are for cinematic shots rather than explorable areas, our camera positioning and budget/memory will rely on this a great deal. We have a number of assets to use, including a Cargo subscription from kitbash3d. We have some foundations set up on style for our anthology, but can still welcome a visionary’s take if you can fit the unique requirements of our worldbuilding. Must be willing to use scene-graph when it matures/can-be-published. Joins a novice/intermediate set designer.
UI/UIX - the nature of our games requires a very complex UI/UIX design. Given that our cards are quite unique and contain a great deal of text, along with our cinematic vision.... UI/UIX is going to be a challenge. We have working prototypes but would love an innovator in this area. Open spot.
Animation/mocap - our series will be mocap heavy; we are using the multi-cam and single cam products from move.ai. Open to any requests for mocap acting and cinematic/animation workflow. Joins an animation contributor and some mocap actors. We expect to focus on this workflow/mocap in July or there-abouts.
2D artists - All types are welcome! While the cards are not inherently art based, we will have some alt art cards where we would like to feature the artists name in the corner of the art, like magic the gathering, etc. Commissions currently range from 30 USD for card art (a small 21:9 ‘thumbnail’) to 80+ USD (front card art and sleeve art, other 2d art, etc.). Please send a portfolio link.
Writer - We can provide writing samples for our style if you can provide some samples back. We need writing collaborators for world lore, card lore, object lore, side quests, and collaboration with the main story. There is some light work in Articy Draft 3/X which we may ask you to use. Must provide samples. Joins the creator/director in writing duties.
Verse programmer - Looking for someone to write some modular code for a light inventory system, card view system, progression and in game store front code. Joins two intermediate/advanced verse coders (focusing on card and battle logic).
Sound - Our stories are told mainly by orchestral compilations. We will frequently remix licensed songs, some from services like Epidemic sound, and others of public domain whose performances we can license. This could be as difficult as helping loop and parse a song by Vivaldi, for example. Sound foley will also be very important in our game. Joins an advanced game sound designer.
Misc - We’re hoping to have a social presence and need guidance in everything from marketing to moderation and more. DM me to find out more about what we are working on and if your skills may fit!
We’re looking for contributors that can help us finish this prototype episode and the first episode of our main series due in 2025. We have extensive documentation and video guides to get you up to speed in your particular area, and can fit within whatever time frames you require. We generally set a trial payment and then a monthly cap - the cap is generally determined on what work is lined up for you and/or your particular area for that month.
Please DM me if you’re interested and I’ll send you an overview video!
